Medicine Buddha Retreat with Dr. Bob Kapitany

Gaden for the West will offer a Medicine Buddha Retreat. The Retreat Instructor will be Dr. Bob Kapitany. The retreat will be held in Clarkdale, Arizona.
The retreat will consist of at least 4 daily sessions for the duration of the retreat. Retreat participants will be expected to assist with cooking and other chores. Laundry facilities are available. Individuals with complex food allergies should notify the organizers as soon as possible after registration to ensure that their needs can be met.
Upon registration, participants will be required to fill out a General Health Questionnaire. Depending on prior meditation experience and the medical questionnaire, an interview may be required prior to acceptance of the registration. Participants should bring their own towels, sleeping bag, bedding, personal hygiene supplies, bowl, plate, cup, cutlery and an appropriate meditation seat, including a zabuton. This will be a residential retreat and all participants will be expected to stay in retreat housing for the duration of the retreat.
Meditation instruction and the teachings for the practice will be available for new and experienced meditators. Medicine Buddha Initiation will be given prior to the start of the retreat.
Participants should expect to arrive on Thursday, April 1st. The nearest airport is Phoenix, Arizona. Ground transport to the retreat site will be organized closer to the retreat. There will be an additional cost for transport, payable in cash to the driver. Further details will be provided at a later date.
The retreat will end after breakfast on Saturday, April 10th. Out of town participants should expect to depart Clarkdale after Noon on Saturday, April 10th. Arrival and departure times should be forwarded to the retreat co-coordinator Kathy Matas katherinematas@npgcable.com. to assist in the co-ordination of the shuttle to Clarkdale. The shuttle will leave Clarkdale for Phoenix on Saturday, April 10 th. Participants will spend one night at a hotel in Phoenix, Arizona prior to flight departures on Sunday,
April 11th.
Registration: The costs for the retreat will be in two parts:
1. A donation to Gaden for the West for CAD500, and
2. An accommodation cost of USD 400.Please provide a cheque made out to Kathy Matas (136 Nakai Ovi, Flagstaff, AZ 86001, USA) for USD100 with registration and USD300 when you arrive. All deposits should be in by March 1st, 2010. There are a limited number of seats for this retreat and registration will be limited, (first come first serve basis) to those who send in their paid registration.
